Whether it be in the early conceptual or construction stages of the project, we are happy to collaborate with architects, engineers & builders to offer cost-savings solutions. Each system is rain-screened, thermally broken & engineered to handle gravity & lateral loads with respect to the building, along the with expansion & contraction of materials.
Mechanically Fastened
Widely used for Architectural stone masonry, mechanical stone anchors are typically concealed with supports used to carry gravity loads of a variety of different types of stone including large format panels, moldings & accents. Non-corrosive stainless steel or aluminum anchors come in continual lengths or independent brackets. This unique system allows for stones of all shapes & sizes to be safely attached to the building’s structure for hundreds of years to come.
Adhered
Intended to be a lightweight system, it imposes less strain on the building & is designed to handle thin stones that range from thicknesses to ¾”- 1 1/8” weighing a maximum of 15 lbs/ft2. Stone veneers are bonded with on-site mortar mixes adhered to wire-mesh scratch coat or cement board with a built-in rain screen system, in many cases thermally broken & insulated. Cost effective & fully engineered, adhered systems are commonly used in single family residences & multifamily/commercial building podiums reaching up to the 3rd and 4th floor levels.
Full-bed
Traditionally used through Europe & seen in many of Vancouver’s older buildings, the dry-pack mortar & full-bed stone assembly has proven to stand the test of time. With bed depths ranging from 3.5” to 5”, durability & timelessness are synonymous with this installation method. Gravity loads are carried at the base & periodically at floor levels. While being restrained with wall ties to prevent lateral movement.
